Thieves Essential Oil Blend

What exactly is an essential oil? These oils are aromatic liquids that are extracted from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, seeds and bushes. They are a wonderful way to help the body heal from and injury and also help to lift the spirits. I am so thankful that the Lord has given us many ways to help heal our body naturally!!

Below is a recipe for a wonderful blend we use alot!

Thieves Oil Blend

We have added this blend to antibacterial hand gel, used it as flea shampoo for the dog, rubbed it on the bottom of feet to help prevent illness, defused it in the air and we even used in emergencies for deodorant.
It’s truly the ultimate essential oil blend!!

Thieves oil is know to be anti-microbial, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-fugal and anti-inflammatory.

Like I said before we mix it in our hand gel to use after we are done at the store or to use on the shopping cart handles.

Thieves blend originated from a group of perfumers from the 15 century, who by using a blend of herbs, spices and oils similar to this, were able to rob the bodies of those who had died from the bubonic plague. The king found out about this group and made them give up the formula in exchange for theirs lives!

Here is the recipe for the thieves blend we make:
(I’m adding the botanical names so the correct oil is used)

Clove (syzgium aromaticum)

Lemon (Citrus Limon)

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Verum)

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Radiata)

Lavender (Lavendula Angustifolia)

Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis)

Use equal parts of each oil and mix well.
We add approx. 20 drops of the blend to 1.5oz of hand gel.

Please know that this blend is very potent & like all essential oils can burn the skin if put directly on.
We always mix it with another substance before we apply it.
Some great carrier oils are almond oil, olive oil and vegetable oil.

(Also if you are pregnant or nursing be sure and research all oils before using them.)

We use this blend a lot when winter and spring months arrive, and even now too as stomach flu's and other illnesses go round town.
I hope it will be a great blessing for you too!

I hope to share with you more about what I am learning in the essential oil field, so be sure and check back for more blends and recipes!

This seems like a very good alternative for
hand sanitizer. Our family does not use hand sanitizer because we don't like to put alcohol on our skin. This will be something that I will have to try out!
